Victorian LightingOur house is a period property that was built during the reign of Queen Victoria and the interior has retained many of its original features. There are high ceilings, original fireplaces and coving, plus plenty of other fine features that I totally adore. Although the house has kept a number of period features, within each room there`s a decidedly modern feel. We have tried to achieve a look of old meets new by subtly blending modern fixtures and fixings with the traditional features of the home. One thing I would like to do in the hallway is to install some
Victorian Lighting to replace the modern features that are currently in place. There`s nothing wrong with the lamps we have in the hall at the moment but I love the look of a beveled glass lantern that I have seen. I can imagine this type of
Victorian Lighting would be mightily impressive when it was viewed for the very first time. It`s perfect for our hallway and would certainly be in-keeping with the age of the house. I like the fact that I can mix modern features within the home with items from a bygone era. The
Victorian Lighting is extremely impressive and I`m sure it would make a fine addition to the property.
